I know all too well, just as many of you, that life consists of many let downs, challenges, and setbacks. That often times changes our perception of the world around us. Our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions all shifted by this single, or series of events that effected our lives. It can allow for doubt, anger, hopelessness, anxiety, and depression to creep in and overwhelm us. However, I believe that these events do not define our journey, that they do not write our story. It is merely a chapter in the series of our lives, a stop along the way. A starting point for true growth to begin. As a counselor I believe that we have the authority within ourselves to reclaim our story. The authority to change our narrative. Through deep reflection, challenging problematic thought processes, and deep persistence - you can slowly begin to take back your life.

Sometimes the people around you won’t understand your journey. They don’t need to, it’s not for them.
